For us at Trebbau, environmental protection is an important issue. As a paper processing company, it is unfortunately not possible to completely avoid CO2 emissions, but we are especially committed to conserving resources and using them very consciously in order to create a livable world for all of us and for future generations.
What does this mean in detail?
Paper
Each of our departments is tasked with reducing paper consumption to a minimum – in data processing, we even avoid the use of paper as much as possible! We also take advantage of all opportunities to avoid paper in our interactions with customers and suppliers. For example, documents such as quotes, order confirmations, proofs, and invoices are primarily provided digitally. And the paper that does accumulate as waste in our company is securely shredded and recycled through “Partner Documents.”
Energy
We strive to minimize our energy consumption and, whenever possible, perform energy recovery. Naturally, all of our PCs have a consciously low energy consumption, and the screens automatically switch to standby mode after 2 minutes. Additionally, a modern photovoltaic system helps cover part of our energy needs. In our production machines, waste heat from compressors is recovered and fed into the heating circuit.
Climate-neutral printing
In digital printing, we generate no CO2 emissions with the certified VarioPrint i300. This is a major advantage over many toner-based printing systems. Furthermore, the pigment ink is de-inkable. This means that during the paper recycling process, the ink can be removed from the paper, allowing the paper to be recycled again.
Partnerships
We prioritize partner companies with a demonstrably sustainable focus. Additionally, we have a large network of local suppliers and service providers, which helps save long transportation routes. This also gives our customers the opportunity to include sustainability in their orders. We are happy to support you in carrying out a climate-neutral print of your mailing components – just ask us!
Social sustainability
At Trebbau, our sustainability focus does not end with environmental protection. As an employer, we see it as our duty to do something for our employees as well. For years, we have offered fresh fruit as a healthy snack every day, and water dispensers are available throughout the company. This ensures that employees can stay healthy and hydrated. Additionally, every employee has the opportunity to lease an E-Bike – daily cycling keeps you fit, protects the environment, and saves money by reducing fuel costs. Two important topics in this context are home office and flexible working hours to optimize work-life balance. Even before the pandemic in 2020, employees in the IT and administrative departments had the option to work from home. This saves CO2 emissions, money, time, and stress that would otherwise be spent in the daily traffic jams around the city of Cologne. Furthermore, our flexible flextime model allows employees to balance their personal needs, such as work and family, ideally. Only a healthy body and mind work joyfully and strengthen the company as a team.
