Initial situation

National Pen is part of the National Pen Corporation headquartered in San Diego, California, and is a part of Cimpress N.V. based in Venlo. With approximately 700 employees, the B2B mail-order company supplies businesses with promotional pens, pencils, and other promotional products. National Pen has been in business for over 60 years and is currently active in 29 countries. Customer acquisition is mainly carried out through mailings to third-party lists, telemarketing, and online channels.

Tasks and objectives

In addition to comprehensive offline customer acquisition for the DACH markets, Belgium, France, Italy, and the Netherlands, establishing successful partnerships is a key area of responsibility for Trebbau. This includes developing suitable B2B list proposals for both direct mail lists and database addresses. Trebbau also advises National Pen on the use of scoring models, which enable the client to successfully optimize and expand its customer acquisition efforts. For several European countries, such as Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium, Trebbau handles complete data processing, including optimizing postage costs. Additionally, Trebbau supplies data for printing promotional materials for the respective countries and reliably implements imprint requirements.
Furthermore, we conducted a duplicate check for the Asian market and successfully cleaned the address list from Japan, which included specific characters. This avoids unnecessary mailing and postage costs and ensures a well-maintained address database.
Moreover, Trebbau markets National Pen’s addresses (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, the UK, the Netherlands) effectively on the market.
